Hello July, I'm finally here!

 

I've been doing some drawings with watercolour and graphite. This time I've been doing some experimentation with larger surfaces as well. I found it's pretty challenging for watercolour medium to spread across these large surfaces but as long as there is some traces of these beautiful organic watermarks showing up on my work, I'm happy with it. I love you watermarks...you really kept me going!

Just an Experimantal for Today...

NEW SERIES ALERT!! - The Guy with the Tartan

i'm happy to annonce that i just found myself a new series to work with !

this is a part of Watermark series with subtitle 'The Guy...'

Hrrr... i'm in love with this boy! haha

at first this painting was only going to be an experiment on my ability in drawing guys

and since i'm really happy with how this painting turned out, i decided to make a series out of it.

The Girl with Flying Hair...

painted this today in my painting class.
i was actually in love with the image that i worked off of for this flying hair girl.
it's just amazing so i painted it, that's how things work, isn't it?
paint whatever you love to paint... :)

The Girl with a Plait...

at first i was so worried that i wouldn't be able to get the plait right.
but now i actually like how it turned out to be more of how the nature of watercolour should be, rather than having a prefect looking plait which doesn't remain its traces of watercolour gestures.
also i really like her soft lips colour.
btw sorry for the bad quality photograph, i really need a good scanner!

this painting is slightly different to my other paintings in term of the brushstrokes are being less rigid.
i was trying to make her look more abstract, i supposed but don't really know if that's working out or not.
hmm.. guess i'll have to keep on exploring my style then!

i'm back on posting again... woohoo!!

i got sick since last week so haven't really paying attention and giving love to my blog lately but i'll try my best to upload some of the work i've been doing so far!

today i posted a painting that is in developing stage of my style i guess.

on tuesday night it was 'Beards and Moustaches Exhibition' opening night.

as it clearly stated itself on title of the exhibition, people who enter the exhibition must have a moustach on either their face or finger!

the artworks exhibited there were amazing! as you can see some of them on the recap photo.

The Girl with Cadet Blue Lip - Art Collective Night

ok the past week hadn't been a good week for my baby, laptop, as the power adaptor exploded.
so my laptop was dead for about a week and a bit. but now it's all good to go. yay!
anyways, this painting is one of the painting i did of Kirsten Dunst from Marie Antoinette.

this saturday i went to 'Art Collective Show' which was a conjunction of art, music and you get to create your own work plus there was a game table as well. we got to make some doodling on the wall which was a pretty good fun. i got some pictures from the event.
the night started with acoustic and building up to rock bands, and yep... it was a good night.

another painting i did for my watermark series.

INSPIRATION B

so finally! i finished my painting of Bryan Tanaka.
he is definitely one of my best inspiration in drawing and painting.
i don't know how did that really work because he's a professional dancer which has nothing do with drawing or painting, HA!
but i guess the reason for that is i really love drawing portraits but never really take a serious practice before.
not until i went to Beyonce tour concert last year and was completely in love with Bryan. haha
and yeah after that i started to set a goal for myself and started to draw more and more.
so THANKS to him! i got to know what i really enjoy and love to do a bit better.

hopefully there'll be more of Bryan Tanaka's to come!

Hey Everyone!

finally it's weekend and uni break!

more time to relax and enjoy this rain, plus more paintings and drawings to be create.

today i'm posting more works from my 'watermark series' which i've been doing for my painting class in this semester.

they're just some experimanting on watercolour as i've never really use it before.

also i think i'm in love with WATERCOLOUR!! :D
